Angie is a rare girl it is not every day you find someone who genuinely cares!! Angie has always been someone we all can rely on through everything!! I even remember trying to gossip with her from time to time and she won't at all!! She has such a great heart and is such a good mommy to her 3 beautiful kids!! She is BEAUTIFUL and kicks butt at marathons!! She is a Martha Stewart in the kitchen and can cook anything perfectly!!

Okay!! So I just want to start off and say that I am not a flake. I talked to Heather tonight and she suggested to change book club to next week so her and Kristen can come, which was fine with me. It will also give me another full week to get in the swing of things with two kids. It is a lot harder than I thought. Today I was able to get us all ready and out the door at noon. And I was feeling pretty good about it!!

Anyways, so next week, February 28th at 6:30 p.m. Heather has committed to coming and I hope the rest of you can too! Love you all and can't wait to see you and catch up.

Book Club!!

So I was totally bummed yesterday that the weather was so bad. I don't know how it was for everyone else, but we got a few inches and it was very icy. So even though I wanted to be selfish and tell everyone to tough it out, I am glad that no one traveled to get to my house. That scares me. I don't like driving in snow and icy conditions...sort of freaks me out.

We are just going to pick up and start book club in February. And it is for real this time. I am having my baby in like a week or so, so we will do it after that. The third Thursday in February is the 21st so hopefully that will work. Black that day out on your calander's and don't let anything else be scheduled that day. We will still discuss Eat, Pray, Love and it will be at 6:30 pm.

I hope everyone is still plannig on coming this Thursday, January 17th for book club at my house. The book we are reading is Eat Pray Love by Elizabeth Gilbert. It is a book about having success and keeping spiritual devotion through trials and hardships. It was featured on Oprah and I have heard from everyone who has read it that it is worth reading. And even if you don't have time to read the whole book, still come and spend a night with friends.

I included my address and directions in the email I sent. If you don't have them or have any questions let me know and I will send you another email or let you know details on how to get up to my house.

Chicken Tortilla Soup Recipe

Hey guys! Some of you wanted this recipe. It's super easy to make. Enjoy!

4 chicken breast, cut in halves
2 15oz cans black beans, undrained
2 15 oz cans Mexican Stewed tomatoes
1 cup salsa any kind
4 oz can chopped green chilies
141/2 oz can tomato sauce

1. combine all ingredients and put in large slow cooker.
2. cover. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours
3. Just before serving shred chicken breasts and stir.
4. Serve with chips, cheese, avacado, sour cream.

Hi ladies! Melissa A. told me about this blog a little while ago, and I’m so glad that I have been able to read up on all of your lives. Everyone seems sooo happy and involved in so many different things. Melissa and Kristen, your trip to Africa made me so jealous. It sounds like your trip was amazing. Kristen, I love how involved you got with the kids and I'm sure they loved you. It’s always an overwhelming experience to see how excited children from other countries respond to that kind of attention. A little bit of nail polish goes a long way.

Lyndsie, your little Zac looks like he could be Nathan when Nathan was little. He looks just like an Olsen. After looking at this blog, I felt like I needed to get more hobbies, take more pictures (you guys are all great photographers), and try to go on an adventure…sooner rather than later.

I thought I’d fill you all in on where I have been for the last 7 years. Who would have thought I would have stayed in Washington, DC for nearly 7 years now. I thought I’d be living in sunny California with a beach cruiser bike and a surfboard enjoying the outdoors and the beautiful weather. Yeah, not so much. Other than the awful humid humid summers (not so good for the complexion and the hair) and the fa-reezing winters (snow-less of course, so I watch movies and eat a lot of treats), and the crazy expensive rent for a shoebox of an apartment, I really like it here. I've had a lot of fun adventures traveling to Bermuda twice, Guatemala, Costa Rica twice (I actually got an apartment and lived there for a few months), Ecuador, Galapagos Islands, Mexico, and Cuba. I’m definitely due for another trip after seeing Traci’s pics in Portugal and Melissa and Kristen’s trip to Africa.

I moved to DC at 19 and have been surrounded by people 8-10 years older than me ever since. It’s definitely different out here. Everyone has post a graduate degree..or two and is involved in some kind of really intense cause.

I used to have a really cute black convertible vw cabrio but I lived in a bad neighborhood in DC and all of the windows were smashed in and the roof was slashed. So sad. I was really tempted to set up shop inside my house with treats and a bb gun, to catch the guys who were doing all of the vandalizing. The best part about it was that I had a ticket on my car for parking within 5 feet of an alley way. No charity here. Awesome.

My mom passed away in November of 2004 at only 54, which was really awful (and is still pretty rough). I have a strong family and we’ve stuck together through everything though. Jimmy has been great at being a loving and supportive as well.

I got married in August of 2006 to Jimmy Jeffries, from L.A. I dated Jimmy for 3 years before we got married. He is 6’4”, so when we have kids someday, they’ll have a good chance at being taller than 5’4” (my family is full of munchkins). I love being married…except that everyday feels like a sleepover party and I just keep eating and eating and eating (I blame the results of weight gain on birth control). Don’t worry, I’m trying to get a grip now and I’m calming down. Jimmy and I love to play tennis together a few times a week…which is so fun because it’s a great workout, but you don’t want to pass out while playing. I wish I would have played tennis in high school! It’s so much fun and I can’t seem to get enough. Too bad I don’t have Kristen and Melissa H. around to give me tips.

Jimmy has been a speech writer on Capital Hill for 2 congressmen for the last 5 years and decided to quit to start his own business in construction. He does the business side and his partner looks over the construction work. It’s kind of a random change, but he loves being his own boss. I do the interior and exterior design work for them as well as nanny a 7 month old boy. My sister still lives out here too, so I have had a ton of fun with her and her 4 kids...3 boys and a girl (the pic is of her little girl, Sienna when we were at the beach).

Hey girls! It's that time of year again where we all get together to catch up, laugh it up and eat it up! :) This year we will be having the slumber party the second week of October. (Friday October 12-13) We will be spending the night at my parents ranch in Elkridge. We can all meet somewhere for dinner and ride up together. It will be soooo much fun! I just wanted to say to all of you how good it was to see you after so many years and see what you all have been doing. It was great to catch up with everyone. We just moved to Riverton and I actually started thinking about everyone alot because as I was going through boxes I found old pictures and it was fun to remember those good old times that I shared with you all. I know I went my separate ways for awhile but I appreciate each one of you and the great people and friends that you are.

Trent and I have been married for 2 1/2 years now and we live in Riverton. We have a baby girl named Brynlee who is almost 10 months. And I have a big surprise (it was the biggest surprise to me) but for those of you who didn't know, I am 2 months pregnant now. Birth control doesn't always work :) We are excited and this little one will be born sometime in February. I just stay at home with Bryn and Trent does mortgages.

It is good to hear what everyone is up to and everyone looks great. I really love and appreciate you all!

I am so excited to finally be able to hear what you are all doing on a weekly basis rather than just catching up every six months or so. This is such a great idea and hopefully I can figure out how to post some pictures. We are having a great summer and just got all of our sod in YYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! Let me tell you if was a hard 2 months of work but well worth it. Having 3 kids is soo much fun, really busy but well worth it. They amaze me everyday and make me thank my lucky stars that I have a healthy family and friends that I care about. How great is that. I just found a neat quote that I want to share because it keeps running through my head because it is something I so want. It says "When men speak ill of thee, live so that no one will believe them. Plato" I think it is great advice. I love you all and it was such a blast to get together with some of you at Melissa's. I loved seeing you all, we really need to do it more often, especially when Angie comes up.

I was so excited when Kristen told me that her and Liz were making this for our friends. I think it is going to be a great way to keep in touch. I always feel like I am the odd-duck, being one of the only friends living away from Utah. I am so happy that I will feel a little more updated on all of your lives. I loved looking at the old pictures. They did make me smile and laugh thinking of all of the old memories. Am I right that the park city trip was when we were chased down the street by dogs and something with motorcycles? My memory is slowly fading after these 2 kids of mine. Hey girly girls! Can I just say I LOVE YOU GUYS SOOOO MUCH!!! Looking at the slideshow made me first smile, then I laughed (and almost peed) and then I cried! Literally! It kind of sounds like I'm going through menopause huh! :) Anyways, it made me realize how lucky I am to have shared my life with such amazing friends! We have had so many fun, silly, crazy, innocent and memorable moments that I will treasure forever. It's been awesome to grow, learn, laugh, cry, love and spy with you all! I know our lifes are all going in different directions but I hope this helps us stay more connected so that we can continue to support each other and make moments that will turn into more amazing memories! As Elbert Hubard said, "A friend is someone who knows all about you and loves you anyways!" Love you all!!!
